About this product
SS-31 (elamipretide, MTP-131) is a synthetic tetrapeptide that concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10 mg vial for laboratory research.
Structure
- Sequence: D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH2. Dmt is 2′,6′-dimethyltyrosine.
- Alternating aromatic and positively charged residues let the peptide cross the cell membrane independently of membrane potential.
Research areas
- Binding to cardiolipin, a phospholipid of the inner mitochondrial membrane.
- Cytochrome c peroxidase activity and reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation.
- Mitochondrial respiratory chain and membrane structure in cell models.
Packaging
A sealed glass vial with an aluminium crimp cap. Every vial carries a batch number and expiry date.
For laboratory research only. Not for human or animal use.
