About this product
MOTS-c is a synthetic 16-amino-acid peptide whose sequence is encoded in the 12S rRNA region of mitochondrial DNA. First described in 2015. Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10 mg vial for laboratory research.
Structure
- Sequence: MRWQEMGYIFYPRKLR (Met-Arg-Trp-Gln-Glu-Met-Gly-Tyr-Ile-Phe-Tyr-Pro-Arg-Lys-Leu-Arg).
- Origin. One of the few known peptides encoded in the mitochondrial rather than the nuclear genome.
Research areas
- AMPK activation through the folate–AICAR pathway in cell models.
- Mitochondria–nucleus communication: under cellular stress the peptide translocates to the nucleus.
- Cellular responses to metabolic and oxidative stress, and age-related changes in peptide levels in preclinical models.
Packaging
A sealed glass vial with an aluminium crimp cap. Every vial carries a batch number and expiry date.
For laboratory research only. Not for human or animal use.
- Purity confirmed
- Batch certificate of analysis (COA)
